Gas Engineer Intern at Wales & West jobs in Cornwall

A trainee gas engineer position has opened at a gas line and emergency service in the Southwest.

Wales & West Utilities are looking for trainee gas engineers in the area, but in Cornwall all applicants must live within commutable distance of Redruth.

The company maintains pipelines that allow gas to heat homes and power businesses for 7.5 million people across Wales and the South West of England. They operate the emergency gas service, connect new homes and businesses, and modernize the gas network.

The new engineers will join the company’s Trainee Gas Engineering Operative program, where they will be trained to respond to gas emergencies, modernize the gas network and connect homes and businesses to the gas network.

The closing date for these roles is Monday 6th June and more information can be found at www.utilities.co.uk/about-us/our-company/careers/.

Sarah Hopkins, Director of People & Engagement, Wales & West Utilities, said:

“While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of people in the South West of England. Whether it’s heating your home, preparing the family dinner or taking a hot bath, we understand how important it is that your gas supply is safe and reliable and available when you need it: now more than ever.

“Everyone we hire will play their part in helping us keep gas flowing to heat homes and power businesses in our area today, while improving the gas network so we can all play our part in a green future.”
